Iranian President Hassan Rouhani lauded, on Thursday in Baku, the ties between Iran and Azerbaijan describing the current status of the relations at the best level. “In this visit, we made strategic and historic decisions and the great achievements of this visit will bear fruit in the future”, said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Thursday. The Iranian senior official made the remarks speaking at the Business Forum of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan in Baku. The President referred to the love of Imam Ali (AS) and celebrating Nowruz as two symbols of closeness between the two Iranian and Azerbaijani nations and added, “Today, we are witnessing Iran-Azerbaijan relations in its best condition and its achievements will be beneficial for the entire region and the world.” “In this visit, we made strategic and historic decisions and the great achievements of this visit will bear fruit in the future”, said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Thursday. Stating that “a win-win approach stabilizes relations”, Mr. Rouhani added, “The views of the two countries are identical in many regional and international issues.” “With the wisdom of the heads of the two countries, we will witness further growing of relations,” added President Rouhani saying, “Joint manufacturing of high-quality cars is a source of honor for the two nations.” “We are witnessing the efflorescence of relations between the two countries in the spring,” highlighted the Iranian top official. “Tehran-Baku relations and their achievements will benefit the entire region and the world,” continued the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying, “we are happy about the advancement and prosperity of Azerbaijan and efflorescence of relations with Iran.” He continued saying, “In this visit, we made strategic, historic decisions and the great achievements of this visit will bear fruit in the future.” Stating that Rasht-Astara railway project will make faster, safer and cheaper shipment from China to Europe, he said, “Tehran and Baku governments will pave the way for relations between businesspeople and the private sector”. He added, “there are various opportunities for investment, including energy, industries, health, technology and agriculture”. Mr. Rouhani also went on to state that “friendship and paying attention to each other are more important than economic interests”, and continued, “religion, beliefs and culture of the nations of the region have one origin and we must stand with and for each other.” Deepening of bilateral and multilateral relations will stabilize cooperation, he continued, saying, “Our neighboring provinces and peoples must be able to have each access to each other.” Stressing that “in banking relations, we have not yet been able to achieve the optimal level,” the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran said, “We need free trade and the joint commission must remove the obstacles”. Our Islam is the religion of mercy, said Rouhani adding, “There is no threatening and terror in Islam and we follow the path of the Prophet and the Ahl ul-Bayt (AS).”

At a ceremony in Baku, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev opened Khazar joint car manufacturing factory and the Astara-Astara railway on Thursday.
